Michelle Chong is co-founder and CEO of Honey Bun Ltd., the fastest growing wholesale bakery in Jamaica. Under her leadership the snack bakery was publicly listed on the Jamaica Junior Stock Exchange in 2011. As a certified HACCP consultant Mrs. Chong oversaw the training of her staff complement of 300, resulting in Honey Bun being the first HACCP certified Jamaican bakery in May 2016.

With Mrs. Chong at the helm, Honey Bun has received several national awards from the JMA, JEA, and the PSOJ with 11 of these received between 2011 and 2016. In 2013 she was listed as number 26 in Business Suite Jamaica’s Top 50 Business Women.

Mrs. Chong’s influence has led to the company’s reputation as a leader in Corporate Governance. Through her attention to leadership, accountability, transparency and standards, she was appointed president of the Jamaica Exporters Association in March 2016. As JEA president she remains focused on effecting change within the business community through increasing communication between national agencies. Shortly after in May 2016 Mrs. Chong was invited to join the board of directors of JAMPRO.

Mrs. Chong takes a proactive approach to her work, and is dedicated to advocacy on issues of international trade, as well as educating the public regarding the development of Jamaican export through exceeding international standards.
