JAMPRO partners with ‘Destination Experience’ to boost economic growth

Jamaica’s investment and export promotion agency, JAMPRO, has officially partnered with business event, ‘The Destination Experience Visionaries’ Summit’, as the Agency seeks to engage investors and other business representatives to boost Jamaica’s economic growth. The three-day forum kicks off on April 4, 2019 in Kingston, and will bring global thought leaders and innovators to Jamaica’s shores in a bid to promote innovation and international business in the Jamaican economy.

The Visionaries’ Summit will serve as a space to connect with potential investors and influencers, and will offer an environment for Jamaican and international decision makers to discuss projects that could drive economic transformation and growth. JAMPRO will also explore Jamaica’s path to growth at a panel hosted by the Agency featuring local business powerhouses, Jeffrey Hall CEO of Jamaica Producers Ltd, Andrew Mahfood, CEO of Wisynco Group Ltd, PB Scott, Chairman of Musson Group Ltd, and Chris Williams, Co-Founder, Proven Investments Ltd, focusing on the theme “Driving the Economic Shift: Jamaica’s Growth Story”.

Co-Founder of The Destination Experience Visionaries’ Summit, Kirk-Anthony Hamilton, said he is delighted to renew their partnership with JAMPRO, noting that the Agency’s involvement in the event will support its goal to bring all key stakeholders to the table to explore solutions for the Jamaican economy, and to spur innovation in business. The initiative has made great impact, as it has developed a community controlling resources in excess of US$140 billion, and has been the source of over US$300 million in investments across various growing sectors including real estate, energy, finance and the creative industries.

Encouraging local and international partnership for Jamaica’s economic growth

JAMPRO’s President, Diane Edwards explained that the Agency is collaborating with The Destination Experience team to further encourage not only investments in Jamaica, but collaboration with local and international stakeholders to boost economic growth.

The event supports the Agency’s overall economic development strategy, which includes facilitating partnerships that will facilitate investments and knowledge sharing to strengthen local business.
