In addition to the invaluable input from members of the Export Council, the specific industry strategies emerged from the work of dedicated teams for each of the priority industries, which met for numerous consultations. There were over eighty (80) participants from the private sector alone. The Strategy was validated at a stakeholders workshop held on March 17, 2009 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston attended by one hundred and fourteen (114) persons comprising individuals from firms and organisations in the public and private industry:
